The Air Ambulance & milldownART Exhibition

The Exhibition mentioned in the previous posting, took place in Blandford Forum and £701 was raised in support of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, and is being handed over to them. In addition, money was raised directly by the Air Ambulance staff at their own stall at the event. We hope that those who were able to see the exhibition enjoyed it, and thanks to everybody who contributed to the fund-raising.

If you weren't at the event but still wish to contribute to the Air Ambulance, or you just want to look further into the work of the Air Ambulance, have a look at the Dorset & Somerset website

milldownART Exhibition 22nd & 23rd February 2008

This is to let you know of an art exhibition to be held this month, on 22nd & 23rd February 2008 in Blandford Forum, Dorset. On show will be painting, photography, etching & pictorial quilts. We 'Milldowners' are organising the event. The Milldowners are an occasional, and ever changing group, drawn together from our common usage of The Milldown (an area comprising 40 acres of grassland, hedgerow and woodland) in Blandford. Proceeds from the exhibition will go towards supporting The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

Above are some examples of the material to be seen at the exhibition. From the top, the two photos are of pictorial quilts by Roy Dickinson. They are made from a variety of fabrics and materials, and take Roy months to create. They are quite outstanding. The top quilt is called 'Gloriana' and the subject is Queen Elizabeth I. (Copyright © Roy Dickinson 2003). The second is called 'Poultry Paradise'. (Copyright © Roy Dickinson 2004).

The photo from Venice is by me, but apart from some Venice and Milldown photos from me, there will be photos by others at the exhibition. There will also be etchings on display.

So, come along to the exhibition - I'm sure there's something for everybody on show, and support the Air Ambulance.

(if you click on any of the photos, including the red Exhibition poster, they should go BIG, so that you can see them better!)
